East Yorkshire
 

East Yorkshire borders North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. The county is spread across a total of 957 square miles and has an approximate population of 600,000 people.

East Yorkshire’s dramatic coastline is punctuated by stunning beaches including Bridlington South Beach, Skipsea Beach and Wilsthorpe Beach.  Each beach is picturesque and nestles among steep cliffs. East Yorkshire is also home to many historical attractions, such as the Burton Agnes Stately Home, an excellent example of Elizabethan architecture, built in 1598 by Sir Henry Griffith.

Another population attraction is the medieval market town of Beverley, with many high street stores and independent shops.

Famous residents from East Yorkshire include Luke Campbell, who was born in and grew up in Hull, East Yorkshire. He is an English boxer famous for winning a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympics.

East Yorkshire is also home to many rivers such as Rivers Hull, Ouse and Aire.
